It is not just your daytime productivity that is affected by a poor night’s sleep. People who report sleeping less than four hours a night are over 70% more likely to be obese. Many poor sleepers also suffer from mood disorders such as anxiety or depression, and accumulating a consistent ‘sleep debt’ may double your risk of future cardiovascular problems.

Many sufferers of sleep disorders such as sleep apnea are unaware they have a problem, often going years or even decades without recognizing their daytime sleepiness, fatigue, restless legs and/or nocturia (frequent urination at nighttime) as possible symptoms of an underlying sleep condition.

Lack of sleep can negatively impact your health and well-being, leaving you with barely enough energy to get through the day. Unfortunately in today’s society, this is the norm rather than the exception. Forty five percent of the population say that they will sleep less to try to do more each day.
